



The IRM or Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a technique to produce images of different parts of the human body using a strong magnetic field (magnet) which passes from the radio waves.
MRI uses no X-rays as Radiology or scanner.
RECEPTION
On arrival in the MRI service, you will submit to the secretariat in order to register your card and your vital support each other.
You wait in the waiting room with the previous reviews in your possession (ultrasound, CT, radiography), possibly your prescription (if you have not left your making appointments) and contrast (s' it has been prescribed).
The manipulator will pick you up and take you to a cabin where you will be asked to undress whatever the prescribed examination. We will bathrobe available. You will remove all jewellery, watches, glasses, braces, piercing. Any metal objects can interfere with the successful completion of the review.
According to information provided by your physician, the handler will ask you to an intravenous injection of contrast during the examination (Gadolinium).
You will then be taken to the MRI room where you will u will lie comfortably on a bed that will move slowly in a large ring (open to each of its ends).
The manipulator will give you a bell so that we can call at any time. The medical team sees you and hear you during the exam.
The MRI is painless, but is rather noisy, earplugs or headphones will be placed on the ears to reduce the noise during image acquisition (this noise is completely normal).
The test takes between 15 to 20 minutes. During this time you must keep a complete stillness so that images obtained are not vague and allow the radiologist an accurate diagnosis.
The radiologist will give you most often initially result orally. Then, after detailed analysis and interpretation of images, a written report is prepared.
All of your results (report, pictures and CD-ROM) will be provided within which will be specified by the secretary.
The CDROM contains all the images. These images are easy to see on a PC or a Mac. You can also easily see how to use this under "Help" from the CDROM.
If you so request and where possible, you will leave with the results on exam day. You will be asked to wait after the end of the examination.
It will then consult again on the prescribing physician who will review and monitor your care
