This is an examination using a dedicated device. It is a radiological examination of choice in the exploration of the breast (review SMN). It is a ray of the breast. It is based on X-rays Proposer une meilleure tra
It is often coupled with an ultrasound, because the couple "ultrasound mammography" has a good diagnostic efficiency.
It is now well established that early detection improves treatment options and increases the chances of recovery.
On arrival at the service of mammography (RADIO B) you submit to the secretariat in order to register your card and your vital support each other.
You wait in the waiting room with the previous reviews in your possession (ultrasound, CT, radiography).
The review involves compressing in turn the breasts and then exposing them to low-dose X-rays. Compression is achieved by a compression paddle specially designed for this type of exploration and resolved to make it painless and well tolerated by the patient.
This compression allows the spread of breast tissue which facilitates the visualization of breast structures and reduces the dose of X-rays delivered.
A mammogram does not always give at once a definitive diagnosis: she can see if there is an abnormality in the breast, but it can not determine with certainty if or not a cancer.
Further tests are then needed to establish the diagnosis:
The radiologist will give you most often initially result orally. Then, after detailed analysis and interpretation of images, a written report is prepared.
All of your results (report and photos) will be provided within which will be specified by the secretary.
If you so request and where possible, you will leave with the results on exam day. You will be asked to wait after the end of the examination.
It will then consult again on the prescribing physician who will review and monitor your care.
